The Many Colors of the AC30C2 Limited Edition Amps



January 2010 - Vox introduced the "standard" AC30C2 amplifier. This all tube, two channel amp featured reverb, tremolo and Top Boost. It was covered in black basket weave vinyl and brown diamond fret cloth. The corners, vents, handles and knobs were black. Two 12" G12M Celestion Green Back speakers were standard, Celestion Alnico Blues were an extra cost option.

January 2011 - Vox introduced the first limited edition AC30C2. It was covered in a special "Vintage Red" basket weave vinyl with contrasting brown diamond fret cloth. The corners, vents, handles and control knobs were black. It was equipped with two 12" G12M Celestion Green Back speakers. Celestion Blue Alnicos were not offered in this model.
April 2011 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 "Black Comet" amp at the Winter NAMM show in 2012. The Black Comet was covered in a uniquely patterned vinyl with comma shaped "comets" (see inset photo above). The corners, vents, handles and knobs were black. The amp featured two 12" Celestion Green Back speakers. Production was limited to 350 pieces.

January 2012 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 Blue Limited Edition amp at the Winter NAMM show in 2012. The AC30C2-BL was covered in blue vinyl in the traditional Vox "basket weave" pattern. The amp featured "Tygon" grill. The corners, vents, handles and knobs were off white. The amp featured two 12" Celestion Green Backs. Production numbers were not offered.
September 2012 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 British Racing Green Limited Edition amp. The AC30C2-BRG was covered in a deep green vinyl with the traditional Vox "basket weave" pattern. The amp featured "Tygon" grill. The corners, vents, handles, knobs and feet were off white. The amp featured two 12" Celestion Green Back speakers. Production numbers were not offered.

July 2013 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 Purple Limited Edition amp. The AC30C2 Custom-PL was covered in an "elegant purple" vinyl with the traditional Vox "basket weave" pattern. The amp featured "Tygon" grill. The corners, vents, handles, knobs and feet were off white. The amp featured two 12" Celestion Green Back speakers. Production numbers were not offered.
July 2013 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 Cream Limited Edition amp. The AC30C2 Custom-CM was covered in an off white vinyl with the traditional Vox "basket weave" pattern. The amp featured "Tygon" grill. The corners, vents, handles, knobs and feet were also off white. The amp featured two 12" Celestion G12M-65 Cream Back speakers. The total number of AC30C2-CM amps to be produced was not offered.
September 2014 - Vox introduced the AC30C2-TV-BC Limited Edition amp. This 1959 era "TV front" cabinet styling was offered in a two tone scheme of either blue/cream or red/cream vinyls. In the US, the red/cream models were offered exclusively at Guitar Center. The amp featured "Tygon" grill. The corners, vents, handles, knobs and feet were also off white. It featured two 8 ohm 12" Celestion Green Backs.


September 2016 - Vox reprised "British Racing Green" basket weave vinyl on the AC30C2-BRG2 limited edition amp. Unlike the 2012 version of the AC30C2 in British Racing Green vinyl, the AC30C2-BRG2 featured traditional brown Vox grill cloth and black plastic corners, vents and handles. It also included two 12" 8 ohm Celestion Green Back speakers.

January 2017 - Vox announced the limited edition AC30C2WB amplifier covered in "White Bronco" vinyl. This White Bronco vinyl had a surface pattern similar to Fender Tolex from the 1960s. The AC30C2WB featured traditional brown Vox grill cloth and black plastic corners, vents and handles. It also included two 12" 8 ohm Celestion Cream Back speakers.
September 2017 - Vox announced the limited edition AC30C2MB amplifier covered in "Maroon Bronco" vinyl. This Maroon Bronco vinyl had a traditional basket weave surface pattern. The AC30C2MB featured traditional brown Vox grill cloth and black plastic corners, vents and handles. It also included two 12" 8 ohm Celestion Green Back speakers.

July 2019 - Vox introduced the AC30C2 TTMB Limited Edition amplifier with an unusual two-tone vinyl scheme. The front, center and rear were covered in maroon vinyl with a "tolex" texture. The front and rear of the cabinet body were covered in black "basketweave" vinyl. It also featured brown Vox grill cloth and two 12" Celestion Greenback speakers.

January 2020 - Vox celebrated the tenth anniversary of the AC30C2 by introducing the AC30C2 VB Limited Edition amplifier with classic black Vox grill and basketweave vinyl coverings. The AC30C2 VB also sported black plastic corners, black plastic vents, three black Vox strap handles and two 12" 8 ohm Celestion Green Back speakers.
January 2024 - Vox introduced the Limited Edition AC30C2 CVR amplifier in classic vintage red vinyl. The grill cloth featured a black back ground with gold diamonds. The AC30C2 was devoid of plastic corners but had three plastic vents, three Vox handles, two 12" 8 ohm Celestion Green Back speakers and a "Thomas" US style Vox logo.
