If you have ever been in a subway station in London, England or in New York City, you may have heard a "busker." A busker is a musician that performs for tips and gratuities. As there is no place to plug in a guitar amp, buskers playing an electric guitar need a battery powered amp. The Mini 3 is often known as a "busker" amp for this reason. The Mini3 amp can operate either on six "AA" cells or with the included "wall wart" power supply.
The Mini3 replaced the DA5 amp offered by Vox from 2006 through 2009.
Mini3/Mini3 Classic Features:
The Mini 3 includes many of the features found in Vox Valvetronix amps. Eleven amp models are included on the Mini3. One of the eleven amp models is a non distorting clean model which is ideal for acoustic-electric instruments and keyboards. Four effects (Compressor, Chorus, Flanger and Tremolo) are available for selection from a single rotary control. Another rotary control selects between two types of echo and two types of reverb.
A second channel with reverb is also provided and is well suited for vocals.
An AUX input jack allows an MP3 player to be connected to the Mini 3.
The Mini 3 also includes a guitar tuner.
The Mini 3 may be powered by the an 120 volt "wall wart" power supply (included with the amp) or by six AA batteries. The Mini 3 is capable of up to 30 hours of operation on a fresh change of batteries. Batteries are not included with purchase.
Mounting buttons are included on the sides of the amp so that you can attach the amp to a guitar strap.
The Mini3 Classic has the classic look of a Vox amp, including brown Vox diamond grill. The Mini3 has a "TV" front cabinet with black Vox shadow diamond grill cloth and is available in black, white or green vinyl./font>
