Yet another unique VOX guitar was the nine string tear drop designed guitar. The guitar had a conventional twelve string set up on the top three strings (G,B,E), but reverted to a standard six string set up on the bottom three strings (E,A,D). The Mark IX had three pickups; a two way adjustable string damper; nine closed back tuners; spring vibrato and detachable padded cushion on the back.
