| Tom Jennings did his best to inject some Vox mojo into his new Jennings Electronic Industries operation. He not only brought Dick Denney in as an electronic engineer and circuit designer, he also enlisted an army of artists that had previously used Vox equipment to support his new venture. The front cover of this 1969 Jennings catalog featured Donovan, Mick Jagger, Dave Clark, The Shadows and Cliff Richard as celebrity endorsees. Aside from Mick Jagger, most of these artists had already seen their better hit making days. Unfortunately, Tom Jennings had seen his better days, as well. Jennings Electronic Industries would never enjoy the success that Vox did. Marshall, Hiwatt, Orange and Laney would dominate the UK amplifier marketplace in the seventies. |
