Introduced in 2013, the Vox Ukelectric was a concert-sized, teardrop shaped electric ukulele. Its design was inspired by the Vox Apache Series travel guitars introduced in 2012. The Ukelectric featured a built-in 3" speaker powered by a two-watt RMS amplifier concealed beneath the pickguard and powered by an internally mounted 9V alkaline battery.

The instrument had a solid mahogany body and an eighteen fret rosewood topped fretboard with a 384mm (~15.125") scale length. Four polyurethane finishes were offered: Blackburst, Redburst, White and Natural Brown.

Additional features included a power switch with a red LED indicator, bridge mounted piezo pickup, level control and a 1/4" output jack. The 1/4" output jack would allow the Ukelectric to be connected to an external amplifier. The internal speaker was automatically muted when connecting a cable to the 1/4" output jack.

When Vox introduced the Ukelectric in their official US website in 2013, they noted that the Phantom® and Teardrop® names, body profiles, and headstock shapes were used via a licensing agreement with Phantom Guitar Works, Inc. This licensing arrangement was required because Phantom Guitar Works took ownership of the design patents and trademarks after the original Vox US protections were allowed to expire.

The Vox Ukelectric retailed for $375 and had a "street" price of $299.99.
