| JMI Vox introduced both a Phantom and a Teardrop guitar with onboard electronic effects in 1964. These guitars were made in the UK and sold primarily in the European market.
In mid 1967, Thomas Organ introduced the second generation of electronic guitars to the US market, this time made for Vox by Eko of Italy. This print ad appeared in Downbeat magaizne in June 1967.
